What is Intuitive Eating?

(Hint: It's not a diet)
Let me set the scene...
We live in a time where the media rules. We are inundated with pictures of "perfect"looking models and celebrities and this makes us feel like we need to look a certain way. Every one and their aunt is talking about the latest diet trend, which seems to change quicker than the seasons. In addition, when we visit our doctor's office we are told to hop on the dreaded scale and pretty much our entire health-status is judged based on that number. People often avoid medical professionals for this reason.

I'm here to tell you that you are so much more than that number on the scale.

Intuitive Eating is an approach founded by two Dietitians, Elise Resch and Evelyn Tribole. It is not a diet, in fact it is a non-diet.
Intuitive eating is based on 10 principles which you can find on my home page.
It promotes a healthy attitude towards food and body image and aligns itself with HAES (Health At Every Size).
The aim is not to restrict any foods, eat what you feel like eating, tapping into to our internal hunger cues, do not avoid or ban any foods from your diet. Intuitive eating teaches us to make peace with all foods and that all foods fit into a healthy diet.
